There was something rather tempting about watching the man drown himself in liquor. If Lehnsherr knew anything about Stark, it was that the more he drank, the more destroyed he was. He could become an easy target. Something to check off his list and keep from becoming more of a hassle.
The tyrant turned, studying Stark with sharp eyes. He had allowed him to get this close, and now it was only a matter of pulling the right strings. He could get him right through the eyes. The back of the head. A proper execu-
Oh. Oh yes, there was something rather different about this Stark, wasn’t there? Those eyes. They were a little bit more blue than he remembered. Then again it had been oh so long since he had seen that man’s face. But no. No those were unnatural. Trust me, he had seen many mutants in his time.
The flock of men and women that hovered around the man working on drowning himself on land was atrocious. How easy it was for a mindless flock to follow after something powerful and beautiful. How enticing.
“I would appreciate it if you didn’t do anything for me, Stark.” There was a subtle purr on his lips, but it was the kind of rattle that could be easily mistaken for danger.
Tony was enjoying the flavours put in front of him. All of his admirers were gathering around and buying him drink after drink. “I’ll make sure you get an extra long free sample of Extremis, make sure you download the app first though, doll.” He beamed to a woman who rest her hand on his shoulder. Such shallow relationships. Tony knew they were all shallow. Mindless drones following him for attention. So petty, he pitied them. Though the attention he was getting was a perk.
“Suit yourself. The guy probably works for Hammer.” Tony snorted, addressing the crowd behind him as they turned into a typical pantomime and boo’d the mention of Hammer. He didn’t care. He didn’t care about anyone making fun of him any more. He knew he would have his day, and soon enough everyone would be reliant on what he had to offer. He would be a god. Tony’s glowing eyes returned to the bartender in front of him, smoothly smirking at him and tilting his head. “What are you doing after this? See, I’ve got a party at mine and I’m giving out free samples of my new tech, you should definitely come along…” It was as if the armour meant he had no restraints, even on his words. If he saw someone or something he liked, he would just go for it. There was confidence but this was something else, and it made him feel so alive.
